Weather app not updating

Since later 2019, the Weather App on my Ionic has not been working correctly. The main issues are that the ‘current location’ does not work (only way to get a location is to use ‘Add City’ in the app’s settings) and I have to manually re-enter a city name at least once, maybe twice, a day to get available info. Over the past couple of months, I have relayed my concerns on this app to Fitbit Support and have heard basically the same response from no less than three advisors.  I have performed every suggestion made by Fitbit Support (check settings, etc) including performing a factory reset on my Ionic. The last response received read in part, “...we'd like to share that we’re aware of this known issue, but may not be able to provide a fix in the immediate future.”  Best I can tell, the Weather App is a Fitbit app. If features of an app — such as ‘current location’ in this case — were not working as touted in the description of a third-party app, I wonder if Fitbit would allow that app to continue to be available as advertised. Just wondering what’s going on.

Hello there @WimbHR, thanks for stopping by. I'm sorry to hear that you're going through this situation. I appreciate you've taken the time to troubleshoot the weather feature on your Ionic prior to posting here.

Our Support Team haven't heard back from you since 02/23, in order for them to address the issue with the weather, could you please reply back to the email they sent to you and let them know that the steps provided didn't work?

Let me know if you need further assistance, I'll be around.

Uh, the steps the Support Team suggested did not apply to the Weather App (the steps suggested had to do with messages I get in the iOS app implying that I do not have notifications turned on; I followed the steps provided and I received no more messages for a couple of days but since I have received at least one; however, I am receiving notifications on my Ionic). The Support Team’s reply concerning my Weather App Issues was the following: “Regarding the weather app that doesn't update despite trying our recommendations, we'd like to share that we’re aware of this known issue, but may not be able to provide a fix in the immediate future. We'll continue to monitor the situation, and keep our team informed of the impact to you and other customers. We understand that this isn't the resolution you're hoping for, but rest assured we're always working to improve our products.

We're sorry for any trouble. We appreciate your patience and look forward to getting you back on track.”

There were not any provided steps concerning the Weather App in the 2/23 email. The statement tells me that they may be working on the issue but a resolution is not on the horizon. Thanks for your concern. I look forward to a successful fix of the Weather App issues and ask to be notified when that occurs.
