6 month premium trial invalid

Just got a FitBit Sense for Christmas from my husband. Upon registering, it set me up with a 3 month trial. I later noticed the brand new box I just opened said 6 months. Fast forward to three weeks later and multiple attempts at contacting FitBit. I am told that I am not eligible for the 6 month because this was a “gift” and trials are not valid. This caught me massively by surprise that if you buy a watch for someone else, they won’t be able to utilize the trial. I really am hoping this is a misunderstanding and not a reason to avoid buying watches as gifts. Waiting still for an answer, but letting others know so as to be aware. If you are hoping to gift a new FitBit watch - your receiver loses benefits. Might want to reconsider.

“With this in mind and upon verifying further, we see the mentioned fitbit.com order of your husband that was purchased as a gift. In line with this, we would like to share that Premium subscription trials purchased from fitbit.com can't be gifted as described in the disclaimer below the option to add a trial membership in this store page

We hope for your understanding. If you have additional questions about your Fitbit device or services, you may also visit our help page.”

Sincerely,

Ramon Z. and the Fitbit Team
