Got a new Fitbit.
I had an old account that’s still active until January 2024. I don’t trust Fitbit to add the 6months free premium on once it expires, so I went ahead and started a new account, figuring I don’t need the old data so starting a new one not that big a deal.
-I used a different email address. I setup a new account.
-I can see my device under devices.
-I tried to activate the offer. Fitbit grabbed my old email address from the iPhone and automatically said ‘you still have an account, welcome back’
-I go back to the main screen and my new device is gone. It only shows my old device. Premium still expires Jan 2024. I logged out.
-I logged back in, made sure again I’m on the new email address. I confirmed my device is once again visible. Tried to activate premium with Google instead. This logs me in with the new address, take me to Fitbit.com, but only allows me to purchase a 90 day trial of premium and not the 6 months that came with my new Fitbit.
-I go back to the app and scroll through the features. I click on premium it looks like I’m signed up.
-I go back to account and subscriptions, it takes me back to the Apple page and again shows expiring January 2024. I go back to the account again and the whole setup changed. It’s as though I’d logged in with the old email address, my device is gone from the list again.
I hope this made sense. It’s just bizarre. Like the app sees me properly until I click on premium then everything switches over. I don’t care which email it goes to as long as I get the free 6 months.
