How to activate my free premium?

I used to have a (paid) premium account. Last week I bought a new device (Fitbit luxe) which includes a 6 month free premium use. 
2 days ago my paid subscription ended. How can I start my free premium period? The only options I seem to have is pay for it. Some advice, anyone?
