Be aware, if you purchase a premium subscription along with a Fitbit device, you will NOT be refunded the subscription cost if you return the device. I purchased the 1 year subscription (at a discounted price) when I purchased a Charge 5. I returned the Charge 5 and cancelled the Premium subscription within two weeks of purchase, but Fitbit would not refund the price of the subscription. The Allstate protection plan WAS refunded.
So, if you're purchasing a Fitbit device, take the free Premium trial, but DO NOT purchase the subscription until you're 100% sure you're keeping the device. I was planning to find another Fitbit device closer to my needs, but I'll go Garmin instead.

@EstuardoFitbit It's strange T&Cs. If I sell my car, I get my annual insurance refunded based on time left to end of the insurance. Most of annually paid products have a period of cancellation since purchase that guarantees full refund. And what happened to common sense and looking at customers individually? If customer returned the only device and has paid for annual Premium then why not to refund remaining money? Or add option to freeze subscription (then user may come back when finds device that suits them). Customer satisfaction is not something Fitbit places on the pedestal. With so many complaints about Premium financial side there is a clear indication that the product is badly designed and should be taken back to the drawing board or scrapped entirely.
@ds07 probably you'll be happy to find out all features on Garmin are free (there is no premium).
