It is ludicrous that the app keeps telling me that it can't sync without my location. I am not using the location tracking features. I do not want the location tracking features. My Charge 2 is right next to my phone. This is going to make me find a different pedometer to replace my Fitbit, even though I've happily used Fitbit trackers for a decade before this.

Location Services is required to sync with Blue Tooth Low Energy devices. It's a security measure implemented a few years ago.
Google bt le google location and you'll see lots of links explaining the requirement.
Any device that uses BT LE to sync will require location services.

I see. (That's bull**ahem**, since the point of BTLE is allegedly that it's low energy, and having location services on at all times isn't low energy.) However, it doesn't explain why I need to have location enabled when I'm using a Fitbit that is older than BTLE and it doesn't explain why I get the notice even when I have location enabled for Fitbit.
