AUTOMATIC EXERCISE RECOGNITION Smart Track

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Newbie-Just started using FitBit Charger 3 and really impressed with the technology and dashboard.

When I go to the gym and use the elliptical runner, my FitBit says I am using an outdoor bike. I tried to change the name in my activity history by using the edit function but no luck.

Any advice on how I can get the auto exercise recognition feature to recognize that I am using an elliptical runner rather than an outdoor bike.

Also it does not recognize when I am using weights.

Thanks for any help.

I find it's safer and more accurate to not rely on auto-recognition, but instead start and start each workout from the tracker itself.  That way, you have more choices of what to name the exercise, and you can be sure you get credit for the full workout time.

If not familiar with using that method, you can read more about it here:

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
