Fitbit Update 6/14/19: We have removed the web-based activity groups from Fitbit.com. Our enhanced community features within the Fitbit mobile app provide users with a significantly better experience by allowing them to access fitness-related news and local events, connect and message with friends, discover public groups of like-minded individuals, and create their own private groups.
User-created groups on the Fitbit app also allow members to track their progress through group leaderboards and cheer each other on, just as they could through the web. The Fitbit mobile app is available for Android and iOS.
As of 6/13/2019, Web Activity Groups have been deprecated and will no longer be accessible.
We know that many of you have used this space to connect with friends and fellow Fitbit users, and we recommend considering the in-app Fitbit Community to continue those conversations. Along with topical public threads where you can discuss personal health goals, the Community also offers closed groups with many advantages - including space for up to 2,000 members, and leaderboard statistics.
For more information on joining and inviting your friends to these closed groups, check out this article. We know that this kind of transition can be difficult, but we are confident that you'll find lots to love in the new Fitbit Community!

As I mentioned earlier, I'm going to go ahead and close this thread now. Our goal here was to collect feedback around the closure of the web-based Activity Groups, and ensure that customer responses were heard. I believe we accomplished that goal, and I appreciate the rational, well-thought replies from many of you.
I understand that you may feel that your voice was not heard simply because the decision was not reversed. Hopefully it helps to hear that every post in this thread received individual attention and was included in internal reviews. I have heard that the lack of warning took many by surprise and didn't allow sufficient time to make arrangements elsewhere. I've also heard that the in-app groups don't offer the features you value most, or simply aren't what you're used to. I will make sure the larger team understands this sentiment so that we can provide the best experience possible for you in the future.
I encourage everyone to check out the in-app Community, as well as the Lifestyle Discussion boards on this forum. While not exactly the same as the Activity Groups, these are great places to make friends and find motivation toward your goals.
Thanks everyone for joining this discussion and providing your thoughts.

Previous to today there used to be three feature selections in this section.
1) Help
2) Discussions
3) not sure the exact title but in this section one could find various listings of groups to join. Such as Seattle women over 50. Or Portland trail walkers Or Denver hikers, etc etc
I wanted to check my status in the various groups I’ve joined only to find this feature no longer exists in the Community section.
Any idea what happened? Has it been moved if so where? Has it been deleted, if so why?
An inquiring mind wants to know 🙂

Yeah we did try different devices. Like I mentioned I also tried my computer at work.
But anyway, the issue we had we resolved by me calling but thanks for reporting the issue to your team. I checked and it still appears for me but I hope if we have an issue in the future for it to be fixed by then.

My dashboard has Find Friends in the spot where all my friends were. I checked, and I am still following them, but they do not show up on my dashboard. Is this just a hiccup?

It's about a year since they (Fitbit) last tried to discontinue the groups feature by leaving them on the vine to wither. Maybe this time they've taken a more robust approach.

Moved to the dashboard forum as this has nothing to do with challenges
Don't know why it was removed but hopefully you will get a better answer in this forum.
You can scroll down and you will still see your groups in the meantime

Methinks the O.P. means the original groups, on the website. Not the worthless bulletin board 'groups' that Fitbit have sought to replace them with via the app(s).

Ah - I think you mean scroll down on your (own) profile page? The groups are still listed, but none of them are functional and lead to the "This page has taken a different trail"/Fitbit have messed up again placeholder page.

Hi,
Has anyone else's private activity group gone missing? Our group was there yesterday but today the Fitbit website redirects to a webpage saying ‘Sorry, that page is following a different trail’ with little guidance on where to go.
Does anyone know if these groups will be reinstated or where they can be found now- (seems fitbit have updated their website and member interface). I’m hoping that it just a case of looking in the correct area, however I can’t seem to find it.
Any help appreciated.

We can't find it either and we need it for our challenges! I sure hope someone hit the wrong button and they will appear as fast as their disappeared!

@WendyB no scrolling option for groups. If in fact this feature exits were is it hidden as it’s no longer in the original location.

My Fitbit recently died and I have found an old Flex to use till I can afford a new Fitbit. However, I do not see the point in buying an expensive new Fitbit if I cannot contact my Fitbit friends. Being part of a group has been one of the more important reasons I joined the Fitbit community. If I can't get the encouragement and advise from my Fitbit friends I might as well just use a cheap pedometer. Relationships have been built up over years and have suddenly just been tossed aside. I am hoping this is just a glitch but if it is permanent I don't think I'll be hanging around.

Is anyone having an issue viewing their group leader board and their group page in general? I keep being redirected to a page that says "Sorry, that page is following a different trail." Does anyone have a remedy for this?

Yes, I came on here specifically to ask about this - ours has gone too. What is happening, Fitbit? Have you once again withdrawn this facility as you did previously, and had to backtrack on??

I was wondering if anyone knows whether or not the glitch for viewing private group leader boards is permanent? I am no longer able to view my groups leader board and the page now says, "Sorry, that page is following a different trail."

This is the only way I can get there now
Click on your dashboard. At the top click on the image at top if you have one. If just a normal logo click on it as well
Then scroll down to my Groups.
I do not know what happening

Got the same problem - private activity group can't be accessed. @WendyB I followed your instructions and now I can see the name of my group listed in that part of the page, but when I click on it I get exactly the same 'placemarker' page.
Fundamentally, neither from the 'Community' drop down nor from this 'my Groups' link is the private group available. It's just not there to see. I'm a member of a private group with hundreds of members and an actively used leaderboard - and now nobody can see it.
Fitbit did this once a couple of years ago and it was weeks before the functionality was restored. What are they playing at?
