Activity log has several exercises/activity with N/A distance vs app

My dashboard shows i've moved around 33km in the last week. but my overall lifetime distance has only increased by 13km.

The activity log shows some exercises (runs) that have distance recorded against them, but almost all the other acitivites like walking to work today have 'N/A' against the distance. Is this why my lifetime distance hasn't changed?

I find this strange as the graph on my dashboard shows 33km distance and the fitbit app (ios) shows i've traveled 19km on Saturday. But alas my lifetime distance doesn't seem to reflect that. i've been short of a badge for about a month yet have certainly traveled enough to have achieved it.

what am i doing wrong?

Hello @SunsetRunner!

Is there any possibility that the Run activities have been logged manually? I'm asking this because manually logged activities do not count towards lifetime totals or badges.

If this is not the case, please let me know.

Thanks for the reply.

no all these walks are auto triggered by walking for 12 minutes by my charge 2.

Which I believe is the default setting.

thanks

Hello @SunsetRunner! Thanks for the update.

The reason why I asked is because the automatic recognition on the Fitbit Charge 2 will not display distance for runs. Only if you manually select the Run activity on the tracker itself will you get the distance of the activity.

I hope this clarifies the situation! Let me know if you have any questions.

It does clarify yes. Thanks.

i find it odd that my distance for the day in the app is recorded for these auto recognised walks. I.e the data is there. But it's not recorded against them individually on the website dashboard or recorded towards my lifetime badges.

Seems strange. Thanks for your help.

@SunsetRunner, have you checked your Device Settings for Exercise Goals to ensure it really set to 12 minutes?  The system default is 15 minutes, unless you changed them to 12.   If you are walking 12 minutes, it would be better to set the auto-detect to 10 minutes so that if you only walk 11'45'' it will still detect it.

These are the default Exercise settings:
