Can anyone explain the weird ways of the calorie count.  I walk my dog every day for 40 mins at a strolling pace  on the flat - fitbit says i burn approx 198 calories.

I go spinning for 45 mins 3 times a week- and most of it is in the peak zone - and fitbit says ive burnt 230 calories for the session.

How can this be right??

Cheers

Hello @Tallisf.

Let me help you make sense of what could be happening.

The first things that I'd recommend is that you try to read our article on how we estimate the calories that you have burnt.

In addition to that, is is possible that your Fitbit is not sensing much movement during your spinning classes and so it can only go with the HR but it is not getting the movements themselves and that's why the estimates are on the lower side. You could try moving it up your arm a bit when you are spinning so that it has an easier time recognizing the movements that you are performing.

Let me know if there are any other questions I can help out with.
