Can't see elevation gain in dashboard after run

When I go for a run with my Pixel Watch, I make sure that GPS is connected before I start.  As soon as I finish the run I see the elevation gain on my watch, but when I sync to my app I don't see the elevation gain when I check my run details.  I have checked the Fitbit app on my phone, and the dashboard in a web browser.  What do I need to do to be able to see the elevation gain on previous runs?  Thanks!
