@Odyssey13 is absolutely right, you'll need to sync before the time is appropriately set on your tracker. This is just the way Fitbit trackers work. Moreover, any activity that you've accumulated while your tracker was set to a different time will land squarely on that (incorrect) time.
In other words, your tracker may show 10k steps, you sync, and they all disappear. Except they didn't, they were just added to a different day.
Just a gentle reminder that if you should deplete the battery on your tracker, you should sync it before you strap it on to start your day.
