Exercise autodetaction

For some reason, one of my exercise sessions was not autodetected.  I added one manually initially on my app.  I found the dashboard online and saw you could add custom names and so tried to remove it and add it again.  However, when I add it via the dashboard it does not appear in my app.  Also, I can't see any details at all other than "calories burned" (no graphs or things like that on the dashboard).  It would be really useful if I knew how to get it to autodetect the session =/.  Also, it is pretty inconvenient to try and go back and determine all this based on the heart rate graph manually.

Can I trigger it to somehow try to "autodetect" within a certain range of time (it was on the Nov 5th last week)?  If not, can I get it to pick up all the details that were tracked during that time when I use a custom name?

Again today it did not pick up my cardio workout.  Incredibly strange considering it picks up just when I all around sometimes.  Quite annoying as well...
