I had an account here but had not logged in for a year.

Today when I logged in I was prompted for a "Community username".

I tried various names but the box kept telling me that my username must be more than two characters long.  It was every time!

This is in Edge:

Welcome to the Forums @SunsetRunner!

Thanks for bringing this up and for sharing that screen shot.

I'd like to ask a few questions to better understand what is going:

  • Did you try using other browsers?
  • Did you create a new account to post this?
  • Have you tried closing the browser and then opening it up again?

Look forward to your reply.

The issue was with this account which was an older one unused for the last year (guess).  I found that despite the javascript displaying the error (an error that changed from too small to the shown one as I typed), that when I actually pressed the Submit button, that the website actually accepted the Community Name (my current chosen name), however the browser was showing the error before I pressed Submit.  (The screenshot was taken with me being funny before I then worked out that I could actually get it to accept a real name.)

No I did not try other browsers as I don't have any.

Thanks for your reply @SunsetRunner.

Based on your post, does this mean that the situation was resolved?

Please let me know if I can help you with anything else.
