I know awhile ago I was able to group food like if I built a omelette or something and have the breakdowns added as one . can you not do that anymore?

Yes you can

This is a custom meal I have set up. All I add to it its the milk separate

I have several meals set up like this

Where did you add this? I've seen mention of a "favorites" section within foods, but I don't see that when I go in my app. All I see are frequent, recent, and custom when I go to log a food. If I go to add a custom food, it doesn't have options for adding ingredients or anything.
