Wow! That's excellent. I don't work anymore, I've been retired for 14 years - but when I did work, I was out there around 5 AM every morning for 45 min. to an hour, hit the shower, have a bit to eat and go to work. It's amazing what it did - everyone else around me looked dazed and sleepy, I was fired up! I think that's great.

Thanks for the reminder! I used to work with a lady who was 60 at the time and I was around 30. She ran 5 miles every day before work, and at 60 looked better than any of us girls! LOL But to your point, she was always full of energy while we were trying to down as much coffee as possible. I have a week off of work so going to try to get into a morning routine so I can enjoy the energy boosting benefits as well as the calorie burn! Thanks again!

I did 5,000 steps this morning. Tried to get more, but the Elliptical was hard on me. I haven't done cardio 148-160 requirement in a long time on the Elliptical and it set the difficulty to level 17 before the machine started dialing down at 150.

Hopefully you still log your elliptical workout manually, do you? Because your One alone, even though it will give you credit for the steps it recorded, will be totally oblivious to all your upper body movements. Personally, I prefer not to wear my one when doing gym equipment, be it step-based or else. This way, when I log these workouts, I get the full caloric burn credit instead of having those stats split between steps automatically recorded by the One and the workouts per se.

I record them as an activity record versus the logging as the realtime data is altered. It records it as straight 50 calories each 15 minutes for 45 minutes versus the realtime data.

I absolutely love working out in the morning - in fact, I love it so much - I am going to bed so that I can be up really early so that I don't have to rush and enjoy my morning workout - I used to do 20,000 which I will eventually work back up to. Thinking of getting up at 4:30 to 5:30 and doing 10,000 then take an hour break and going outside to powerwalk while it's warm out from 6:30 to 7:30 - just getting some ideas going while the weather is nice in Michigan.

You are awesome! I try to get 5000-7000 before work, get up at 6am to do that. Then I walk a couple of miles at lunchtime too. Both lots of exercise plus my usual rushing about at work (although I have a desk job I take every chance to rush about!) gives me 20K steps a day usually, I get more work done and I am brighter and happier when I have worked out instead of hitting snooze.
Except today where I feel weary and sleepy and can't wait for 5.30pm! A few too many late nights lately 🙂 Keep stepping everyone (oh and my Fitbit is a boy too - love it when he calls me a stepgeek!!!) x

I prefer walking before work. After work is dicey. I feel more energized and motivated throughout the day when I exercise in the morning. I will walk or train after work but it's not as much fun and I enjoy my exercise so I've slowly been improving my morning routine. I don't have as much time as most though. I'm either taking the bus or carpooling, either way my work day begins at 7:30am.
