I'm doing a 5K later this October. What are some suggestions for training? I need to get motivated.

Hello!
Most people will use the couch to 5K program. Google it. It works very well
Good luck!

Hi @love_softball11 - This October meaning this month? If so, there isn't time for a C25K program. Assuming you are running this month, I'm assuming that you are already a runner? If not, you might consider walking it... I don't want you to hurt yourself! As @WendyB mentioned, C25K is a great program. It is intended to take someone that is not a runner and over the course of a few months, prepare them to run 3.1 miles. I completed this a couple of years ago and haven't stopped running since!
Good luck to you and let us know if you need more advice!

If you haven't been running already, then you're not going to suddenly be a runner in two weeks. I'm not saying you won't be able to run the 5K (hey, some people do), just that you likely won't be doing it properly, and your body is going to hate you. And you probably won't want to be a runner later on.
Starting from absolute zero, the Couch to 5K (C25K) programs really are pretty good. There are some subtle differences (I like Zen Labs, but Blue Fin is probably my favorite right now) but the vast majority of them seem to do a good job. And they do the job well because they condition you to run a 5K over the course of 8 or 9 weeks so you don't trash your body.
Otherwise, my only tip: If it's your lungs giving out before your legs, try running slower.
