So, as you know an important stat in your Fitbit account is steps. And you can get them in a lot of ways!.
If you must get to your target you can even go back and forth in your living room. That or you can go for a walk.
Me, I would rather go trekking. I love being in the nature and adore forests, all kinds of forests, they have my favourite landscapes. But the ones I love most are the wild forests.
I also like walks that allow you to walk above water, it gives you amazing landscapes!
And finally mi big project would be to visit the great north either Yukon or Alaska in summer, or Yosemite. What a View!
And you, where would you like to go to?

Always fancied the Inca Trail
Having read A Short Walk In the Hindu Kush a few years back (which is also well worth a read in between treking), I wouldn't mind treking there as well, although perhaps when the region has settled down a bit:
And always anywhere in the HIghlands of Scotland:
So basically anywhere with mountains is good.

@Namyeknom You seem to like mountains indeed. I love the views you can get from that high but I prefer a lush vegetation. Love the Highlands though.
As you like Mountains and altitude, an aunt of mine went to Turkey a few years ago and they have wonderful limestone formations that can get different color tones and also form natural pools, Its breathtaking (and I only got to see the pictures). You also have entire villages and churches carved into rock.

@SunsetRunner This is a really good topic, that idea of walking free in a nature environment sounds awesome! A lot of people that wasn't used to do exercise started doing it by walking. Is something that you will want to start our slower and for short distances. I like to go for a trip and walk like in Antigua Guatemala, is a place where you can walk a lot and learn a lot of things or in Semuc Champey!

@SunsetRunner I remeber seeing a TV programme about Turkey a couple of years ago and seeing these formations. Must be incredible to see in person.
I agree about the lush vegetiation as well, there is something really peaceful about walking in forests.
@AlejandraFitbit I shamefully know almost nothing about Guatemala but it looks amazing from these pictures.

This isnt exactly a huge hike. But its really enjoyable and great for the kiddies.
Our local Lake Mangamahoe, in Taranaki, New Zealand. This is the view from one of the top look-outs.

Sigh! I love walking! But being a bit decrepit I'm not up for mountains, as fascinating as some of them are, and I can't get far in rugged terrain, as I've learned this summer. I also avoid anywhere with ticks and poisonous snakes so I'm a bit of a downer. I think my ideal would be some of the places in England, Scotland, and Ireland, and that's where I'd really love to be.
