I was more active yesterday and the dashboard shows only 2 minutes active. Today less active and says 200% active. My activity is set at 30 min. per day. I'm confused. I've read some of info people put on boards here but more complicated than I need right now. I'm walking either 10000 steps a day or more often making sure to walk 5 miles a day. Then I add in some other exercise depending on the day, dance, yoga, home workouts etc.
Any help on Active Minutes would be great.
Can I change the one day that says only 2 minutes or just journal a note to myself about that day?
Thanks,
Mary

The active minutes are kind of misnamed, in my opinion. They are really the "very active" minutes (or vigorous activity). Fitbit classes each minute as light activity (which includes sendentary and some mild movement/standing/pottering about), moderate activity (which includes a lot of exercise) and "very active minutes". You can have a lot of steps without any very active minutes (though would likely have moderately active minutes). The very active minutes has to do with the calorie burn per minute. Walking, I can get some very active minutes if I walk at least 4 miles per hour, but I don't get them for the whole duration at that speed. Walking is usually moderately active, but different people will get VAM at different speeds. I think part of it has to do with the impact of the steps (I tend to see very active minutes for activities with some impact).

Thanks for info. Still can't really figure out why yesterday was only 2 min. Just doesn't seem accurate. And today, Yoga doesn't usually give me a lot of Active Min. It depends. I usually have to walk fast or the treadmill for my V.A M.

@MCWSThere are some quirks with the Fitbits. I can get 100% VAM by bouncing at an average of 98 bounces a minute and Fitbit thinks I have gone a great distance at running speed. The same with the mini Trampolines. But walking I need 4.2+mph to get about 50% VAM which is 135+ steps/minute.
