Activity Mode vs App Tracker

Which do you prefer to use?

Due to the fact that I put my fitbit through the washing machine I had to go a few days without it, this gave me a chance to use the App Tracker and I think I like the Tracker better.  I love my Charge, but I'm feeling for the app tracker.  Because it uses gps it maps my activity, it tells me my mile markers and my average speed for each mile marker, and when it posts to my dashboard it shows the route I took.  The only thing I'm not liking is yesterday it told me I burned 200 calories, then it flucuated twice and got rid of some of the burned calories. I had to delete the activity and manual put it in.

I prefer to use my Surge or Blaze.  The app tracker only works so/so, and only if you have your phone on you at all times.  Both the Surge and Blaze have GPS tracking.  Although the Surge is more accurate.

In my opinion the App Tracker is good if you leave your tracker at home by mistake, or the battery has died.  A good backup, but that's it.

Hmmm, for some reason I thought the Charge HR and the Blaze used a similar style of GPS tethering to a smart phone; the Surge on the other hand uses embedded GPS, no smart phone needed.

Absolutely correct @shipo Charge HR and Blaze have a GPS tethering to a smart phone.  Surge was the first to come out without it.  I learned this from one of the Handy Dandy Agents at Fitbit while researching which new Fitbit would be the right one for me. 🙂
