I went to the gym today for the first time in at least 4 years. 2hours. It felt awesome. My body is tired but feels alive! While I was there I kept a detailed record of everything I did (duration, resistance etc) ready to input them into the log when I got home. Having just done so my buzz is fading. No badges? No extra steps? Yes it shows I burned 1500 calories, but nothing like the fanfare I had expected.
I guess I get it, cycling or rowing aren't really 'steps', I had just assumed that Fitbit would assign a step amount to them so I'd get a little boost. At least a badge for my workout. Nope.
Anyway, just disappointed I guess. I think I'm going to incoroprate a step machine next time (ran out of tim today). Other than that, what excersizes can you recommend so that I'll see more grahical results?!

@SunsetRunner While your Flex knows you're stepping, it doesn't always know you're doing other things. You can put these manually into your log. Click this for instructions.
You felt good after your workout and you should! You did great and you did it because YOU wanted to make a difference in your life. Keep going, no matter what.
So often we will do something and get no recognition for it. On these forums, we celebrate those special times with our congratulations and support.
You did it today and you'll keep on doing those changes in your life. Never quit because you are worth the effort, Lizziej!

I would do the exercise that is best for your body and log it manually and reward yourself for the accomplishment by looking at your calorie burn for the day. Steps can be so limiting! And Fitbit has never been one to reward you or give badges for a 'good workout', in my experience. I've been here 4+ years off and on and I only have 11 badges, nearly all for 'lifetime distance' (500 miles, 750 miles, etc.) I would've guess I had 2-3, they come so seldom.
