Any other Trikkers?

Yes, I spelled that right. A Trikke is a three-wheeled "cambering vehicle" you ride with a motion similar to roller-blading or downhill skiing. It's very low-impact, burns calories like crazy, combines cardio and full-body strength training, and is just a ball to ride as well.

I'm just wondering if there's any crossover between the Fitbit and Trikke worlds besides me. 🙂 More info at the link below the picture if anybody wants to know more. Also, I posted a link down there to a YouTube of a really good Trikke rider, if  you want to see what riding is like.

I would love to have one .  Was looking to buy about six years ago but didn't.  The area I live in is rural but the roads are narrow with lts of twists and turns but people still want to go 55.  I still am considering but will have to put it in the car and bring some where safer to ride.  Maybe this year!

Have fun and enjoy your trikking.  I'm glad you reminded me about the trikke.

I'm not sure where you are in CA, but SoCal is a hotbed of Trikkers. Lots of dealers down there, and they all have intro riding assistance. It took me about an hour to get the general idea, but I'm still learning. I bought mine back in 2007 to take along as casual transportation when we were living and traveling in a 5th wheel camper (2007-2012), but I pulled it back out of the shed and started riding it again when I started on my diet/fitness plan. I'd love to be in SoCal where there are lots of active riders and clubs that meet for rides.

It folds down to a really small package for transport, which is what made it so attractive to a full-timer like I was.

You definitely need a safe place to ride, and level helps a lot, at least to begin with. I'm lucky to live in a fairly sparsely populated subdivision that's about as level as a billiard table, so the Trikke is great fun for me. It's worth throwing in the car and taking  a drive to ride it, though.

@WendyB

That looks like a great place to trikke, bike, walk or run.

You'd definitely want to try before you buy, then. My stepson's in mad shape, and can haul along better than 15 mph on the trikke. His girlfriend, who is in just as good shape, just can't get the hang of it. I think with some practice she could do as well as he does, but she's convinced herself it's not gonna happen. 🙂

If you've ever done any skiiing or roller-blading, it comes pretty naturally.

It is a great place. Very scenic. Cept some bikers can be rude to runners and walker as they think the trail belongs to them Smiley Sad

But I have a few thing in mind that I want as far as bikes so I will check this out when I go

Just so you know, some bikers hate Trikkers more than they hate walkers and runners, because the carving motion of Trikking makes passing them tricky.

I log my rides on Endomondo under roller skiing. I have 456 miles in 4 months... I do not have to Lise weight, so I get to eat lots of extra calories! But the best part, is I live getting out there, feeling like a kid.
