Anyone else find it difficult working in the oilfield/being on-call and staying motivated/committed?

I work in the oilfield and am always on-call unless I book days off.  I find it hard to keep on track with eating properly when I'm always on the road, working long hours, and not having any ambition when I am at home.  Anybody else have the same issues or any suggestions that may help me out?

Moe 915 I definately hear you. I am a Certified Athletic Trainer and Strength and Conditioning Specialist so eating on the run and and being on call I can definately sympathise with. As far as then working out on free time and eating clean I struggled too. What has been your solution so far?

It's difficult to try and make healthy good decisions when most of the time my only options are fast good places or convenience stores/gas stations. There are some convenience stores that offer fresh deli style sandwiches and fruit which is better than chips and chocolate bars. I do try to every once in a while bring fresh fruit and veggies with me but I often slack on having them prepared to go when I do get a call from work. I normally have minimal notice and time to prepare anything when I do get called out. Plus since most of my job is driving, sometimes for very long periods of time, I don't get too much time to be active. When I do get spare time I often try to take advantage of my down time but lack the motivation to be as active as I should/could.

I definately hear you on that aspect of finding great food choices when on
the road and with a ever changing schedule it can be hard to plan. I have a
program that works very well for that kind of lifestyle and definately know
first hand how difficult it can be at times. Please either friend me on
