Badges to Motivate

The badges are something that motivate many Fitbit users, including my husband and I.  However, I have noticed that some have a large gap between them for the lifetime distance badges.  For example, there are over 600 miles between the New Zeeland and Great Barrier Reef badges - that is very disheartening.  I have noticed that there is also a large gap between the Saraha and Nile badges - over 1100 miles!  It seem like Fitbit could something like the distance between New York And Los Angeles (about 3500 miles).  The North Country National Scenic Trail is about 4,600 miles - where there is another gap.  Another good one would be the longest journey on record for a humpback whale - 6,200 miles from Brazil to Madagascar.

If it can be of any comfort to you, it can also be the other way round: you have achieved the highest possible lifetime badge and can no longer be rewarded for any further achievements.

For instance I reached the highest lifetime floor badge ("Satellite") in August 2014:

I’ve now close to double that amount, but can’t get any new badge:

You should be able to get each maximum badge more than once!  Level 3 in Satelite, Level 4...  etc...But you know after the Moon...  The next big one is Millions of miles to Mars...  If you could earn that BADGE...  Now that would be something brag about... Or the sun...  "You have walked 93,000,000 miles.  That is the distance to the sun from the earth.  You're on fire!  Congratulations on the Sun Badge"

I still want lifetime step badges. I think it would be cool to have badges for 1,000,000 steps and 10,000,000 steps, etc.

Hey there everyone! I definitely agree with the fact that we need more badges Robot wink it is so motivating when you get one because personally I feel that my effort pays off by earning them. Smiley Very Happy

@WendyB Thanks for the link, for sure will support this request!

I Agree,

They need to do more motivate once you get up in the higher miles.  Right now I'm at the Russian Railway of 5772 miles.  My next is at 7900 miles.  Over 2100 miles isn't real motivating.  Knowing I do 8-9 miles a day it will take me at least 9 months to get there.  Again not motivating.   '

I am < 95 miles from 7900 miles badge. What is the next badge? I figure that the earth's circumference is 25,000 miles which is (3.1415 * 7,900) - that will take me 12 years!! Any ideas?

@sammygabriel,

The next badge after 7,900 miles is 12,430 miles.

I just reached 70,325 floors and thought I would get the satellite 35,000 floors badge again.  Am disappointed I didn't receive it.  Fitbit is no longer motivating to me since I have maxed out on most lifetime badges.  I guess I will start over with a Garmin.

@RobinWendl  It seems to be more of a "fashionitist thing".  I put this up in 2015, and only attracted 209 votes..

Others have put up other suggestions going back to 2013 again, little traction, so it's not in Fitbits plans to help motivate us..

I would have thought your Badge count would have gone up.. when you hover over the largest badge at this link..
