I broke my fibula 3 months ago and DH just fired my osteopath. He was getting particularly
insulting as I had refused surgery.
He had been xraying every 2 weeks and we kept asking not so often.
Well, this last xray shows it is slowly healing.
DH is cutting off the cast today and and an aircast is coming in from Amazon.
How can I start walking again?
I will be going to my regular GP in a couple weeks, so not sure what she is going to say. An ACI check. I feel so lost and vulnerable.
I have had a fitbit one for many years and averaged 4 miles a day until a year ago
62 years old and have been walking/jogging 30 years

I assume you'll be using a crutch for awhile until it is healed .Why wouldn't you be able to walk again?

Yes, I have a wheelchair, crutches and a walker. Since I don't have a bone doctor right now, am unsure how much weight I can put on it.

Well i'm not a doctor obviously but i suggest you see a physiotherapist whenever your doctor tells you it's ok to remove the air cast who will no doubt give you a timetable and a list of exercises . If you can't afford that you can even google 'rehabilitating broken fibula' like i just did and there are many websites etc to help you with exercises and even youtube videos of people with the same issues showing you what they did. .
Hope this helps a little.
