Cruise with my Surge

The ship I'm on has a quarter mile running track that I have been using.  I usually run an hour, in the morning (early)  But my Surge has been showing that I have been doing 3 min miles.  I thought that maybe the ship's GPS was interfering with the Surge GPA.  But, then it dawned on mt that I am running on a moving ship and the GPS is tracking me on that moving ship.  I've run enough to know approx distances for different time periods.  Flat 1 hour for me is 5.5 tp 6.5 miles,

I did see a question on this forum - my Surge does count steps and for the most part while away from the US, I sync using bluetooth on my iPad.

That's a new one. Guess you will have to use the treadmill function on the ship.

I bet the GPS map would be very interesting to see!  Spiral of circles is my guess!

Yeah, running on a moving ship will definitely mess with the GPS functionality of a Surge; it has absolutely no way to normalize your position relative to the ship (which would require the Surge to take the ship's GPS track and remove it from your track).  This may be one scenario where using something like a Charge HR or Blaze without GPS would be more accurate.

I pretty much know from the time how far I ran.    had to run every morning - too many good deserts.  Back home now and back on the straight and narrow

Yes, but your Surge doesn't know that; it assumes you're on dry land.
