This story really bothers me. Last fall I spent a month in western North Carolina hiking state and federal parks, and had a beautiful time.  I can't imagine someone intentionally trying to injure people who are out enjoying nature.  This is so sad to see.

Probably a cover story to keep people away while law enforcement searches for the serial killer hiding out there.
