Distance or Steps not part of calculation

I just posted this as a response to a previous question.  Thought this was cleaner.

I don't walk much, but am looking to track calories and activity minutes.  I don't walk much, and the way I do get around (scooter) leads to erroneous steps tracked.  I'm willing to use activity minutes and calories as a way to track my health.

The problem is that it appears to me that all of the devices use steps and/or gps tracking in its calculation of calories and/or activity minutes.  Is this true?   If not, which devices allow me to track calories and/or activity minutes without steps or distance as part of the calculation?

Thanks,

Sean

@Ableman42 Hello,

I drive for a living and I wanted a way of cancelling out the steps the tracker added.

I found the drive bit app from the various app store (apple or android) that you activate when you do something like driving (or scootering) and then deactivate it when you stop and continue to walk.

It will sync (based on net connection) and take off extra added steps giving you a more realistic measure although it is not infallable.

Hope This Helps!
