Did you mean:

Do you adjust settings on your fit bit to intentionally to make it harder.

Hey, Smiley Happy

Well i am new to the fit bit community. Yesterday, pretty much from the moment i brought my lovely charge 2 at 9am in the morning i started to use it. I kept the settings as suggested for goals and i ended up thrashing it without too much effort.

Please forgive me if this sounds totally nuts, but today i intentionally rigged my steps to 20cm for both run and walk in order to make the step count harder to reach and increased my calorie burn goal to 3000. I will probably adjust the distance tomorrow. So far having woken up pretty late at 12pm (my schedule is all over the place lol) today i have hit 9k, 60 minutes of active time, and 1,800calories. Smiley Very Happy

Does anyone else ever do this to make goals intentionally harder to break?

I am always finding ways to make something harder so i can become more fit. Opinions gladly appreciated.

Welcome to the Fitbit community @SunsetRunner. I never heard of anyone doing this. Did you know you can change your goals? If you find 10K steps are easy to reach for you, you could increase your daily step goal. You can set and change a lot of those goals in the app. I think that instead of rigging your steps that increasing your goals also gives more accurate information to work with.

I do. As I consistently hit my goals and they become easy I try to up it by 10% to give myself a challenge. This also helps you strive forward in weight loss if that is your mention. As you get stronger and build up endurance your metabolism adjusts. So to up your daily activity keeps you loosing weight.

The only thing I have changed is the activity level for calorie count.  I work out 6 days per week but I set the activity level at sedentary and I don't eat back my exercise calories.

2024 still using a Surge.
