I recently purchased a Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred DVD and was just curious about the calorie burn. I know I work hard during it, so it can't be a small amount.

I love Jillian Michaels' DVDs! I don't have an answer for the calorie burn thing, though; all the calorie calculating is beyond my knowledge. I use everything here as more of a gideline, and benefit more by the awareness of my activity and habits.

I love JM, I have used almost all of her DVDs and I have one of her wii games, the 2010 ultimatum (the others suck)
However, the calorie burn really isn't that high for the 30 day shred, roughly about 200 calories but it varies person to person. Yes you are working hard, but a lot of it is strength training which doesn't burn that many calories. But don't be discouraged, you might not lose a lot of weight from the shred but you will certainly lose inches and gain muscle tone and look way better. Gaining muscle also helps you burn more calories by doing nothing so it's a win/win. Keep at it, and make sure you take before pictures so you can compare when you're done.

Thank you! I'm new to this Fitbit thing, but so far I'm definitely a fan.

Thank you for the info! That's what I figured, I know I certainly work hard but it doesn't surprise me the calorie burn wouldn't be too intense. That's why I also combine it with some kind of cardio (even if it's just walking sometimes). Thanks again for the info! And before pictures...that's a good idea!
