Dressing for walks while at work

I have been using my breaks and lunches to walk. I try to get one mile in on each of my two 15 minute breaks and two miles in on my 30 minute lunch. This works great but since I am walking at a 4mph pace I can get a little sweaty and chafed. I have been bringing an UnderArmor shirt, walking shoes, and socks with me since I can slip these on quickly before leaving the office. However, I am still in my cotton pants since that wold require more time than I have to change.

I'm wondering if anyone out there has found a seemless way to switch between business attire and walking attire without extending your break by an unreasonable amount of time.

Thanks Wendy. The shirt, shoes, and socks help to lessen that yucky feeling a little but it would be nice to have time for a full change.

I work in a city that has a large underground tunnel system, so I don't even channge (if I wear heels, I change my shoes). Many people walk these tunnels around lunch time, so it's great. Because it's so cold where I live, you don't have to worrry too much about getting hot down there (though it isn't so cold as to need a coat).

Do you have an office door? You could always just change really fast in your office.

Thanks Paleo! I do have an office door and I am currently changing my top and shoes with a closed door. . . just not brave enough yet to switch out my pants. My door stays closed with a keypad access...and only 5 people have access to my office via the key pad... but I sure would be at a loss for words if someone walked in while my pants were off! However, that may be the best solution.

If it were me, I would change with the door closed (obviously lol), but I would be standing basically right up against the door. That way, if someone tried to open it, you'd be right there to shut it.

Or maybe make a sign/put something on your door handle? Not sure how professional your office is (that wouldn't be allowed in my office, though I'm sure many offices would allow it)

To make it easier to switch between work clothes and walking gear, try wearing pants that dry quickly and don't get too sweaty. You can also wear activewear under your work clothes and use slip-on shoes. These changes will help you stay comfy without taking too much time.
