Extra Busy schedules

For those with jam packed schedules...how do you squeeze in a work out?
I work full time at a very demanding job that does require me to travel quite a bit and have overtime almost weekly. Like today I didn't get to stop for lunch, I grabbed a banana on the run.
I also attend college working on getting my masters degree.
I am not a morning person. I have tried so many times to get up early and get a work out before my day starts but I just can't do it.
By the time I get home in the evenings, which at the earliest is around 5:30 but that doesn't happen very often (Mondays never home before 9 PM, Tuesdays by 8, Wednesdays around 6:30-7, the rest of the week depends on if I have to work late) I have to get dinner prepared for my family (I have been unsuccessful at meal planning), eat and do any homework I might have. If I throw in a workout and a shower, it's time for me to go to bed bc I'm honestly just wore out from my schedule and I need my sleep to do it all over again the next day.
Just looking for advice to fit it all in! I feel stretched pretty thin.

I make the time. I block out my breaks (for walking) and lunches (for heading to the gym next door) on my Outlook calendar in order to avoid meetings. I'm salaried, so there's no such thing as overtime...some weeks are 40 hours, some are more. I just make it very clear that my health and wellness are important and will not be sacrificed for my job...thankfully the organization I work for an my manager are both very accomodating (my manager is one of my after work running partners).

I'm also a triathlete, so I have to cram in training for three sports as well as cross-training. I run four days a week, swim two, ride four to five and do strength training three to four days. Last night, for example: I went for a five mile run after work, got home and made dinner, turned right back around and went to the pool, got home and jumped on the bike trainer for almost an hour. I showered and had about 10 minutes to talk to my wife and cat before it was bedtime.

The high tech world we live in doesn't allow much time for our health, unless we make it. Something has to give...you're right, you're spread pretty thin. Is there any way you can get help with your schedule?

I guess you are right. Just have to make time somehow. Maybe this is my payback for all those lazy days that got me in this unhealthy situation!!!
No help on the home front. I've asked my hubby to help, maybe cook a meal every now and then but he refuses and tells me to pick up something (always unhealthy) when I'm too tired to cook.

Well, that's frustrating (the hubby part)! Maybe if you explained to him how important it is for your to set and meet some health goals? Just a thought.

Making the time is hard...and life does get in the way sometimes. I had to cancel two races last year due to not having trained adequately and work requiring those weekends as well. We do the best we can. 🙂
