I make the time. I block out my breaks (for walking) and lunches (for heading to the gym next door) on my Outlook calendar in order to avoid meetings. I'm salaried, so there's no such thing as overtime...some weeks are 40 hours, some are more. I just make it very clear that my health and wellness are important and will not be sacrificed for my job...thankfully the organization I work for an my manager are both very accomodating (my manager is one of my after work running partners).
I'm also a triathlete, so I have to cram in training for three sports as well as cross-training. I run four days a week, swim two, ride four to five and do strength training three to four days. Last night, for example: I went for a five mile run after work, got home and made dinner, turned right back around and went to the pool, got home and jumped on the bike trainer for almost an hour. I showered and had about 10 minutes to talk to my wife and cat before it was bedtime.
The high tech world we live in doesn't allow much time for our health, unless we make it. Something has to give...you're right, you're spread pretty thin. Is there any way you can get help with your schedule?

Well, that's frustrating (the hubby part)! Maybe if you explained to him how important it is for your to set and meet some health goals? Just a thought.
Making the time is hard...and life does get in the way sometimes. I had to cancel two races last year due to not having trained adequately and work requiring those weekends as well. We do the best we can. 🙂
