When I started with fitbit at beginning of January my resting heart rate was 69. I am 48, 5 foot 3 and at the time weighed 259lbs. I now weigh 236lbs but my resting heart rate is continually dropping and is now 54. My blood pressure has always been on the lower end of normal. Does this sound reasonable, normal, expected or is it something I should be concerned about?

Best Answerzombietree: I don't think there is any cause for concern with those numbers. If you feel okay, the change is probably due to your exercise and weight loss. My resting heart rate has been in the 50's for many years.
If it bothers you that it is low, then a doctor visit is a good idea.
Overall, I think what you're seeing is a sign that you are getting more fit.

@zombietree: congrats for your weight loss and improved cardio fitness! If the "only" changes that have taken place were losing weight and adding physical exercise, I would say there are no reason to be worried about this change, especially since BP is normal. Your resting HR will probably stabilize at some point (maybe it already has), it can’t keep going down forever.
