Getting more steps in the same period of time

As I increase my step goals, I find that it's more and more difficult to get my steps in during work breaks. Here's how I'm handling that problem:

  • Find music that matches my current pace.
  • Go to a Beats-Per-Minute database like https://www.bpmdatabase.com and look up the BPM
  • Search those same artists for songs that are about 10BMP faster.
  • Voila! Less time for the same steps!

For example, if your pace is currently Lady Gaga's "Poker Face" or "Let's Dance" (around 120BPM), try "Alejandro" or "Judas" (130BPM) instead. Elle King's "Exs & Ohs" is about 140--which also works, although I don't think I could keep it up for my longer walks!

After I get used to 130, I'm switching up my playlist to 140s and higher, and so on.

Thoughts?

That's very cool. I know I tend to go faster when its a good song- so this makes complete sense. Thank you for sharing!
