Hi all!
Im unsure as to the accuracy of my HR Zones....
Essentially I don't exercise apart from walking (but I walk very fast), so today I got my trainers on and attempted running again, using my new Fitbit to keep an eye on how hard I was working so I didn't overdo it as I have in the past.
I chose the interval workout. 1:1.5 x10 and I found it pretty comfortable...even at a relatively slow jog (10 min/mile) my HR was in high cardio zone. Towards end of the cycles my HR was in the peak zone. The highest reading was 179bpm for the workout.
Thing is....I didn't feel I was pushing it. If anything, based on the readings I was holding back.
Does this mean my Zones aren't accurate? Should I be well into Peak on every interval?
I am Female, almost 30 and a very lean 8st 6 My rhr is around 58-61
Thanks!! 🙂

Do you know what your true MHR (max heart rate) is?
The 220 - age formula is not accurate for all people. Fitbit uses this formula but allows you to change it I think.
Have you had a stress test done?

No I haven't had a stress test. I don't really know where I could go to get one for free? I'm not a competitive sports person or anything, but I was surprised how high my heart rate was compared to my perceived effort level and how I was feeling. I don't know whether that means I'm more or less fit than I thought?!

I was alternating a power walk with a controlled jog.
