I'm curious about this one too.  I was told you could leave it on, but of course I don't want to try it and find out that was misinformation.

The Flex is water resistance up to 10 Meters. It can be worn in the pool. But it will not track any activity. Swimming is not step based. And if you do wear it make sure to dry the contacts when you get out.

 

So it really is not worth wearing.

 

All other Fitbit's CANNOT be worn in the water.

Have worn my flex to the water park and in the wave pool a few times over the summer and never had any issue.  I did purchase a "bitbelt" to secure the end of the strap to be sure it did not come unclasped and fall off.

I swim with mine 5 or 6 days a week.  Make sure the Flex is completely dry when you put it in the charger.  I rotate bands after each charge so the band air dries.
