To help burn off the Xmas pounds I gained, I went on a "light" walk starting from the South Trail-head parking lot, around Oak Mountain State Park Double Oak Lake, pavilion, marina, Lake Trail to Rattlesnake Ridge (my favorite trail) to Family Trail and back to the South Trail-head parking lot where I started my walk:
Start time: 7:46 AM
7.18 miles
2:31:14 elapsed walking time
19,226 steps taken
826 calories burned
244 feet elevation gain
Fitbit Zip Steps 18,622
Fitbit Zip Cals 1,303

Thanks. Think I'll go along the ridge of one of the mountaintops at OMSP, today. It's colder (30's and 40's), but more level and view of the countryside is spectacular.
Of course, Fitbit Zip will be on my pocket as well as my TomTom GPS Sportswatch recording my trek, altitude/elevation, etc.

Best AnswerLew,
Happy new year!
I too gained a couple of pounds over the holidays. It's a beautiful sunny day here on the Central Coast of California, so I'm going to take a hike up in the hills today, among the oaks at Toro County Park. Just my dog, my camera and me.

Best AnswerI'm back from my hike, Meyer's Loop Trail, at Toro County Park. Here is the data from my Fitbit One:
Steps: 13,327
Distance: 6.2 miles
Duration: 2:53:00 (this includes stopping for lunch)
Calories: 1,159
Floors: 71
I came across this old dead oak that I thought looked cool. My dog, Melody is in the background -- she just wants to keep moving!
