Which calories? Calories eaten or calories burned?
The standard definition of a calorie (as I recall) is the amount of energy needed to increase the temperature of 1ml of water 1 degree Celsius at standard temperature and pressure.

Are you referring to how calories are calculated on fitbit or in general? If in general, then your question was solved in the previous post.
This is important to know too when watching your caloric intake:
1 gram of fat has 9 calories
1 gram of protein has 4 calories
1 gram of carbohydrates has 4 calories
