How can i improve a 2 mile run

I love running. Usually i try to run about 2 miles each night, just to stay in shape, but i was wondering; what are some things you guys do to keep your running sessions fun and exciting, while also improving your time

Mix it up a bit!

 

Why stick to 2?

 

Try 2.5, 3, 5 or even 1!

 

Do some evil hill runs. 

 

Do some sprints. Do some slow, long runs. 

 

Run with friends.

 

Only try to beat your record every couple of weeks. 

 

And perhaps most importantly, take a rest day from time to time.
