This is my first time logging into the FitBit forum(i just bought mine yesterday) Let see my story short and simple...2010 i was at my heaviest weight which was around 185 in 2012 i was at my lowest weight since high school which was 141(in which i think i lost a little too much being 5 feet 7 inches tall. Today, I am 154 pounds, wanting to be 147-150 and maintain. I have incorporated several different TeamBeachbody programs into my workout regimen- Les Mills Combat, P90x (3 titmes) Insanity(currently in 3rd week) Chalene Extreme( completed once and cant wait to do it again- the best one so far) I have the Brazillian Buttlift also. Did i mention I just turned 40?. I am looking forward to this Fitbit experience.

Hi tiffany806 and welcome the forums. Fitbit is a great motivator. I had my Flex since July and just upgraded to the Charge HR yesterday. I think having FB friends, doing challenges, and the forums/groups are great ways to keep motivated. Please feel free to friend me if you like.

Welcome to the fitbit community! I have not been around here very long but so far I have found it really helpful. Make sure you ask lots of questions, and read the forums... they are really helpful.
The exercises you listed sound really good. Did you have a question about how to get fit? I am just a little confused. Did you mean you are not sure which Beachbody program to follow? I would suggest that if you are unsure which one to follow most consistantly that you try them and see what they feel like. If you find one that you can do comfortably (not being able to carry on a conversation but not panting is a general rule) and your body feels good with it... not too light of an effort but not struggling really hard either. It should push you just past the comfortable stage to the uncomfortable but managable. I personally like Turbo Jam. I get a good workout but I am not dieing at the end.
I don't know I just hope this helps 🙂

Has it got to be something as intense as the Beachbody programs you're mentioning? The kind of moderate cardio that Fitbit promotes/favors (= get more steps by moving more) should be sufficient to create the caloric deficit you need to lose 4-7 pounds. Eat the same, move more (eg. 10-15k steps a day) and the pounds (+ inches) will melt away. Perhaps more slowly than with programs like Insanity, but in a more sustainable way and with less risk of injury.

Yay! Welcome to the Fitbit community, Tiffany. Kudos to you for being fit and fabulous at 40!
I also use my fitbit (I've owned one for the last 3 years!) and I've done an array of Beachbody programs. You'll find that some of the Beachbody programs or workouts will log more steps than others. Generally, the fast-paced cardio ones will make your step cout soar, while others, like P90X will not log as many. It's still important to get that strength training in as well as your steps.
I also do some weekday challenges and weekend warrior challenges with the fitbit - friend me if you're interested in joining one of the challenges!

I do the Rockin' body set with Shaun T who does the insanity workouts, resistance bands, lots of walking in a day (I work in the Twiin Towers Correctional Facility in LA). So I get a lot of steps and stairs in a day + if we go out to eat, we turn it in to a 1/2 - 1 mile walk/day. So I think it's important to get exercise that you can incorporate into your lifestyle. I think that if you make it more normal and not going out of your way to get healthy and to be fit, lose weight, or whatever your goals may be, you will be successful. It's important to NEVER GIVE UP!!!! Even when you are tired, or feeling down. Exercise will get those endorphins up and you won't need to sleep away your woes or stress. Instead you will feel great. Now if you need sleep like I do, then get the sleep you need, but let's stay motivated!!!!!
Thanks
Kim

Hello! Have you looking into other programs such as Hammer & chisel by beachbody. In addition, have you tried their challenge packs?

those are good programs. I've done some, but scaled back and had good success with running once or twice daily, and having 3 or so High Intensity runs per week. I combine that with 200 pushups and situps per day, and mash in some of the P90X I used to do.
Also, if you're interested, the builtlean site has some great quick workouts that can really kick one's butt.
Finally, after following some things on here, I've actually tried and have been impressed with ketone diet, together with intermittent fasting. I like the cognitive benefits.
Anyway, that's my two cents, and thanks for the suggestions as well.
