How to log swimming?

I am an avid swimmer. I bought the fitbit flex because it is water proof. That being said how do I log my actual swimming distance?

I have the Surge.  I am trying to log my swimming activity, using my desk-top -- there are spots to fill in start and end times, but no place to write in the distance.  Other mention being able to enter distance... but how?

Oh, I found it.

I was using the "add activity" button, not the swim button....
