Some people just don't understand when people offer things as "free" and always think there's a catch. I'd love to be a part of your accountability group! It's going to be cold here, so I'm really worried about how my steps will be affected. I'm down 23 lbs since April and really don't want to gain any of it back! 🙂 Thanks for being willing to help others. I have some great ideas, recipes, tips and tricks I'm more than willing to share with the group once we get started. (I'm a vegetarian, mostly clean-eating, runner who is also a hippie.)

Hi,
I would like to hear more about the accountability group.
This is my first day using my fitbit and I'm pretty excited.
Let me know what this group will be doing.
Thank you
Ogdenlady

"Starting an accountability group" = half-hidden way to say someone posing as a Fitbit user is offering her commercial services as a personal trainer. Many people (me included) believe the combination of your Fitbit tracker, your Fitbit account and the great Fitbit community (friends, forums) is just what you need to be accountable.

@Dominique I am a Fitbit user -- thank you very much -- an AVID user at that. No I am NOT a personal Trainer; however I am a group fitness instructor.

My main point wasn't that you are a personal trainer, a certified nutrionist, a fitness instructor, a Beachbody coach or whatever. It was that you are offering commercial services (I assume taking part in your "accountability group" doesn't come free) without stating so upfront. This may not be obvious to unsuspecting forum readers like @ogdenlady and others.

@Dominique - I offer FREE weekly clean eating exercise groups. Just finished one up --- it was a Walk and Water.
My purpose is to help people eat properly and more importantly - portion control. Combine that with fitness.

How does an accountability group work?

I can either run a 5 day or a 21 day.
I like my 5 days groups to just be about clean eating and we can put a challenge of a # of steps for each day. I think we can run the step challenge through FitBit if you all are my "friend".
For the 21 day -- I like to give it a theme -- my favorite is "no sugar for 21 days". Tough but we can do it!
I usually do these through FaceBook. I didn't want to set it up unless I had interest. Kinda hard to have a party by yourself 🙂 HAHA

Oh, Goddess. Please not "no sugar"... I'm completely not ready for that. lol I'm in a steps challenge right now which will end Oct 31, so I'm cool with doing another steps challenge. Let me know what you decide. 🙂

I will be interested...and especially in the sugar free one. I am convinced I would not even have a weight problem if I could kick the sugar habit.

I have investigated setting up a private group here, but I don't think it
will allow me to post a menu plan.....I usually run via FaceBook .... would
that work for you guys? OR google+ (I have not tried that but have heard
alot of positive things.

I don't really use Google+ much. I would join a Private FB group if you start one. I'm currently part of one for women over 50 who use the Fitbit too.
