Ice hockey and fitbit

Well about 1 hour ago I have just finish my ice hockey session. I am using my fitbit surge which comes with GPS. 

I know there is no option to run GPS while playing  hockey so I thought I would use the run option.  I was disappointed that in a ice rink it couldn't pick me up on the GPS. 

So what I thought would be a great fact to see where I had been on the ice turn out not to work. 

As anyone else tried this test and got results?
