I understand your point and I think it's a great idea. This type of suggestion is welcome in the forum Product Feedback where users can post ideas about features they would like to find on their devices. To learn more about how Fitbit decides which product feedback to develop, visit our FAQs.

@Larderfridge   I read your other post in the Product Feedback forum to better understand your request.  Fitbit's current models have both canoeing and kayaking as available shortcuts.  You must use the Exercise app on the watch with GPS to track distance.  It sounds like you want an Auto-start option, a feature on six other shortcuts.  Great in theory, but maybe not in practice.  The Auto-start feature needs frequent, repetitive motion patterns to identify an activity.  Fast paddling can be interpreted as indoor rowing, an activity with auto-start, but it doesn't have GPS.  It's best to start/end this on the device.  What model Fitbit do you use?  Some older models have an Outdoor Workout shortcut.  Outdoor Workout is for non-step based activity that has GPS available.

@MariLuFitbit   Kayaking/canoeing need GPS to calculate distance.  SmartTrack can't use GPS and won't help this user.
