Logging duration

ANSWERED

On a day when you work and basically sit most of the day and only have a small number of steps, say 1500, if you log duration as 8 hours the system assumes you have been doing this all day and show 1000 calories when only 125 are really used. Do you have to log in only 1 hour duration or is there a way to deal with this?

It incudes you BMR ( base metabolic rate, 50 -100 calories/hr depending on weight age and sex)) - those calories you burn when sedentary and just staying alive. It also includes exercise calories calculated from steps and elevated heart rate.

I'm confused, what are you trying to log?  Sitting down?

If I walk 1500 steps over 8 hours and log that as the duration I will get about 935 calories expended. If I walk for 1 hour with 3500 steps and show only 1 hour duration I will get about 125 calories expended. Doesn’t make sense and seems to say that on the sedentary day I should only show about half an hour. Thanks for the reply.
