Losing steps

ANSWERED

I was on the treadmill at the gym yesterday. My fitbit started vibrating and flashing as I'd hit my target steps of 12,000 per day which was a great feeling, especially as I'm in a work week step challenge and currently in 2nd place!  When I got home and looked at my fitbit, my steps had gone down to 8,000. This is sooo frustrating and has happened to me a few times now. Is it something in my settings or is my fitbit a piece of crap lol

@JoJo465 There was a Fitbit server outage yesterday, making it unable to sync your device with the app.  Have you synced yet today and checked on your steps from yesterday?  I have all my steps from yesterday.

@Heather-S, thank you for the info.  I was wondering why my Fitbit wouldn’t sync completely yesterday afternoon; steps were updating, but not active minutes or exercise minutes.  Later in the day everything synced properly and all my activity was recorded correctly.
