If I am going to manually log the steps for a spin class, how do I estimate the calories?
Thanks!

To log steps and calories for a Spin Class you would need to log the Stationary Bike as an activity first, that will give you your calories. Then add a walking activity and input the calories from the Stationary Bike. That will overwrite the previous entry and you will have everything.
I would suggest you use the first stationary bike which has Intensity, the second is Distance. which may suit you because if I just input start time and duration, no distance it gives me a calorie burn for a brisk walk at about 3.8mph. Which is similar to light effort on the Intensity Stationary Bike.
I would be happy about that.
I have already sent support an email to add Intensity and Distance to the Stationary bike descriptions to make it easier for Fitbitters.

As posted elsewhere: I attached my Fitbit Force to my spin shoes for Spin class today and it registered an accurate number of "steps." It makes a lot more sense to attach it there, since my wrists are fairly stationery the entire class. I fed one of my shoe's velcro straps through the closed wrist band. This is how I plan to do it from now on.

I would vote for getting a heart rate monitor and using that in spin class rather than the fitbit. I wear my fitbit for every non-gym activity but at the gym - spin, strength training, ellipitcal - I wear a heart rate monitor (i have a polar ft4 and love it).
