Did you mean:

Map it.

I was wondering if there is such a thing with fitbit where I can actually map out the distance of how much I have been walking like on google maps. Reason I ask is my fitbit goal is to walk accross Canada or at least the equivilent of it which is apporximently 7250 km.

The Surge (which has built-in GPS) could do it. For an example of a workout mapped to a Google map, see this post. Please note, however, that continuous use of GPS on the Surge will deplete your battery rather fast (they say in about 5 hours), so the Surge may not be ideal if you plan to do day-long hikes.

If you don't have a Surge, you could use an app on your smartphone (assuming you're carrying one with you). My personal favorite is Runtastic Pro. For instance, here is what a 19.2 km walk in Helsinki, Finland looks like on a Google map:

I can record activities in Runtastic on my Motorola MotoG (complete with HR data if my heart rate monitor is connected to it) that last a lot longer than 5 hours.

Take a look at the Fitbit help site for further assistance and information.

@Dominique Thank you for sharing that! I've been meaning to ask about something like this as well! Pretty cool!

Thanks for all this info, everyone.  I currently use a TomTom GPS Sportswatch and it uploads all data (including continuous GPS) to my MySports Activty dashboard web site as well as MapMyFitness web site.  It also saves a KML (for GoogleEarth) and CSV (if I wish to do more detailed analysis).  These uploads occur when I sync with my laptop.  I haven't used the BlueTooth feature to sync to my smart phone.

I'm interested to see if the Surge (with HR) can upload to more than just the Fitbit dashboard or if the Surge dashboard shows any sort of mapping of runs or hikes or walks?

Thanks.
