Need Help During Recovery

I'm having hip replacement surgery on 6/23 and, of course, will be actively performing physical therapy along with walks, etc. to regain my strength.  I'm currently taking in 1300 calories (or less) daily and outputting 1600+ calories per day.

How do I go about tracking recovery?  Obviously, I reset my intake and output goals but physical therapy burns calories (and more, especially at the beginning).

I should mention that I'm fairly young (under 60) but need this because of arthritis issues.

Thanks in advance,

Marcia

While I don't have an answer to your question I did want to pop in here to wish you good luck on the surgery and recovery. A friend of mine has had hip replacement surgeries before and I know it's definitely not a piece of cake... that being said, the quality of her life has improved tremendously because of these replacements. I hope it will do the same for you.

Thanks for your well-wishes!  I expect I'll do well in recovery as well because they are doing the "anterior approach" which has a much higher success rate as well as allowing for faster healing.

I just wish I could figure out what to do with my Flex!

Thanks again,

Marcia
