Hi all.
Is there anyone out there? All the posts that come up when I search anything seem to be from years ago.
I have a recently diagnosed compression fracture of my lumbar spine. I find that my Luxe is a handy tracker of my steps but cannot see anywhere that I can enter my injury so as to factor it into the demands the Fitbit makes of me. I understand that it is a fairly blunt instrument and certainly won't be taking any injury recovery advice from an app. But it seems in this day and age one should be able to declare an injury when it limits the exercise one can perform.
Any ideas? Thanks!

Hello @Oenogal
Sorry to read about your diagnosis.
Unfortunately, there isn't an option in the Fitbit app where we can declare an injury or illness.
There's a request in the Product Feedback section (<-- click) for a Recovery/Injured/Sick mode. However, the original request is over 10 years old and the status is Not planned.
For now, you'll have to ignore the Fitbit prompts. This is what I had to do when I had a nasty fall earlier this year, resulting in a bad headache and deep gash above my eyebrow. I had to ignore the prompts and just focus on recovery. It wasn't easy.

Thanks for taking the time to reply Rieko
Interesting to read what you said about the post from 10 years ago. Doesn't surprise me, just disappoints me. Definitely a vibe from the app that only the fit and the beautiful need participate. I reckon that if they even bothered to look into somehow factoring in an injury the legal minefield would have put them off. Some angry person out there may have tried to sue them for something the app suggested. Definitely not an aid to recovery in itself. As you say, ignore the prompts and do your own thing and use the Fitbit for its limited facilities. Hope you've recovered from the fall okay! Mine is a lifetime issue so good physio, diligence with exercises to strengthen the core, regular painkillers and a positive attitude.
I worked in Northern California for a few months. A gorgeous part of the world. Enjoy your weekend!

Hello @Oenogal
Thanks for responding and sharing your insights.
I haven't looked into other health trackers and wonder if any of those have an injury/illness/recovery feature/mode. It does seem that the industry targets the healthier & fit population.
My fall was months ago and I'm fully recovered. I have a scar about my left eye as a reminder that I'm not a "spring chicken" and can easily get dizzy when using my virtual reality headset.
I'm sorry that yours is a lifetime issue. You seem to have a good attitude, which will take you far. If you ever have down days, please feel free to reply to this thread or you can send me a private message. Although I don't log into the forums every day, I'm here for you and you can bend my ear anytime.
